Welcome to my page about my opinions on the rights of
U.S. citizens to keep and bear arms.

I'm not here to debate my opinions.
These are my opinions and I'm entitled to them.

I am now and have always been
a gun-rights advocate.

~~How to Enslave a Population~~

The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the
subjected people to carry arms; history shows that all conquerors who have
allowed their subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall.

Adolf Hitler (From Edict of March 18, 1938)

Unless a miracle in human affairs interposed, no nation ever retained its
liberty after the loss of the sword and the purse.

Patrick Henry

I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the
people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent
and sudden usurpation.

James Madison

To disarm the people is the best and most effective way to enslave them.
George Mason

Before a freestanding army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are
in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America
cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the
people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular
troops that can be on any pretense, raised in the United States.

Noah Webster

All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must
command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used
to command the party.

Mao Tse Tung

If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the government,
and outlaws.

Edward Abbey

If you don't have a gun, freedom of speech has no power.
Yoshimi Ishikawa

Those now possessing weapons and ammunition are at once to turn them over
to the local police authority. Firearms and ammunition found in a Jew's
possession will be forfeited to the government without compensation.
Whoever willfully or negligently violates the provisions will be punished
with imprisonment and a fine.

Nazi Law (Regulations Against Jews Possession of Weapons), 1938

Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon
the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest.

Mahatma Gandhi, in Gandhi, An Autobiography, p. 446

~~And now, my own thoughts on the subject.~~

I wouldn't call myself a "gun nut" like the pro-gun control advocates
like to portray all gun-rights advocates as,
but I grew up around guns and have almost always had at least one.
My father was a police officer when I was growing up
and the one and only positive thing he ever did for me was to teach me
how to properly and safely handle guns. He taught me the proper respect
for guns and taught me the positive role guns play in the lives of
law-abiding American citizens.

I believe a human being has the right to defend themselves against
any attacker who would mean to do them or their loved ones bodily harm.
I believe that IF someone is LEGALLY able to obtain a concealed carry permit
then it is their responsibility as an American citizen to obtain that permit
and responsibly carry a firearm for self defense.

Why?

Because owning and carrying a gun IS NOT a privilege in this country, it's a right!
It's NOT like getting a driver license.
IT IS THE RIGHT OF EVERY QUALIFIED AMERICAN CITIZEN TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS
GUARANTEED US BY THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION.
And any right of a citizen not exercised is a right voluntarily relinquished.

But it's a responsibility not to be taken lightly!!!
Get the proper training!!! Get legally certified!!!!
Get licensed legally and get to know your firearm well!!!
We don't want to end up being the gun-crazed wild cowboys
that the anti-gun advocates portray us to be.
BE RESPONSIBLE WITH YOUR RIGHT OF GUN OWNERSHIP!

One of (and only one of) the problems with the gun control advocates
is that they think criminals abide by the law.

That is the silliest thing I've ever heard. Criminals LOVE gun control laws.
They WANT their victims to be unarmed and vulnerable.

Gun control advocates must think that criminals obey laws like law-abiding citizens.
How on Earth can you think like a decent citizen and instill laws that will
deter someone who thinks like a criminal?

You can't!

To stop a terrorist you have to think of ways to deter a suicide bomber.
Coming up with a way to deter a normal person who has a survival instinct
and love of life isn't going to work against a suicide bomber!
To deter a criminal you have to put yourself in the place of a criminal
and imagine what would deter you.
THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO BENEFIT FROM OUR GUN CONTROL LAWS ARE CRIMINALS.
THE ONLY PEOPLE HINDERED BY OUR GUN CONTROL LAWS ARE THE LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS
WHO DESIRE ONLY TO DEFEND THEMSELVES FROM CRIMINALS.

So, for example, what will stop someone who wants to roam the grounds of a
school campus or the halls of a school or set themselves up in a clock tower on a school campus
and start shooting at and killing anyone and everyone on the premises?
If he knew about 50 people would start shooting back at him defending themselves,
I think that would be an undeniable deterrent that would give anyone pause...
unless they had a death wish, then nothing is going to stop them anyway.

(Of course, like the gun-control advocates say,
it's not the scumbag person doing the shooting
that's to blame for anything,
it's the gun. It's the gun that's evil.
The person is not responsible for any of the deaths he causes; the gun is to blame!
The person didn't load it; the person didn't conceal it and take it
to a specific place meaning to do harm; the person didn't aim it at someone;
the person didn't pull the trigger. It's like, the gun made him do it.
The gun is completely to blame. Just like when I whack
my thumb with a hammer, it's the hammer's fault. The hammer did it.
And when I broke my kitchen window with a wild pitch, it was the baseball's fault!
And when I threw that Frisbee and it hit my neighbor's car door and scratched it,
it was the Frisbee's fault...because...because..my Daddy never hugged me!)

But, let's continue on this course of thought with logic applied
rather than pure emotion and fear.
Why do you think you never hear about anyone trying to rob a gun store?
Why do people go to gun-free zones like churches, schools, offices and government buildings
to go on shooting sprees???
Because they know it's highly likely NO ONE WILL BE SHOOTING BACK AT THEM!!!!
Gun stores usually display all their products in glass cases just like jewelry stores do.
And some guns are as valuable as jewelry these days. Some are worth thousands.
We hear all the time about criminals doing a smash-and-grab at a jewelry store.
They could do that just as easily at a gun store. Smash-and-grab and they have
their hands on thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.
Why does that never happen?
Why do bank robbers disarm or take out the bank guard first, then rob the bank?
Because the guard is the one who will shoot back at them.
It's likely no one else in the bank is carrying a gun.
Criminals prefer that no one shoot back at them.
What if jewelry stores were as well armed as gun shops?
Less violent crime, I think.

Be honest. If a serial killer was loose in your town and he promised
to murder the people in every other house on every other street in your city,
would you feel safer buying a gun for self defense or would you feel safe
knowing the police were protecting everyone in the city?

When you hear that bump on your back door and the sound of breaking glass,
you'd wish you had some way of defending yourself AND your family.
So, you call 911. The guy is now coming in the back door. You suddenly realize
your wife, daughter and yourself are his next victims. Then it's over,
and you have to console yourself in your last few seconds that you were a good
gun-control advocate and did exactly what you thought you were supposed to do.
Call 911 and let them protect you.
The problem with that is, the headlines on the following day's paper will let
everyone know how that worked out for you.

Another problem with the gun control advocates is that they honestly believe
and have publicly stated that a woman would simply have her gun
taken away from her and used against her.

Or when he's facing this? Is this when he would try to take her gun away from her?

Maybe you think you could take this gun away from this woman?

Or this one?

Maybe her? Think you could take this gun from her without getting shot in self defense?

Or maybe this woman looks easier to you?

Or maybe her?

Or this one?

Or any of these?

It is not only incredibly stupid and ignorant along with infuriating
that millions and millions of women are assessed and then dismissed
with such self righteous arrogance and indignation, but it's astoundingly
horrific that our ELECTED officials can be so cavalier with the safety
of their female citizens while they themselves take full advantage of
armed guards and protection services, effectively and purposely
isolating themselves from those people for which they are supposed to be responsible.

Everyone deserves a fighting chance for survival against an attacker.
We are talking about our RIGHT to DEFEND ourselves as guaranteed us
by the 2nd amendment of the U.S. constitution. It's our RIGHT!

But because of gun control, violent offenders have less and less to worry about.
It's true. When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
Why would our government even want us to be sitting ducks?
Especially in the face of the terrorism we now face in this country?

The media and gun-control advocates use terms like "Dirty Harry Gun"
and call every rifle "an assault rifle"
or a "sniper rifle." Every handgun is a "Glock."
Every deer rifle is "an assault weapon."
They do this to vilify gun-rights advocates
because the media posts these terms and they sound ominous, dangerous to the general public,
instilling fear and misinformation into people who only know what they read in the headlines.

We rarely ever hear about someone who protected themselves against a violent
attacker and whose use of a gun in self-defense saved their life.

We rarely ever hear about anything in the media
that will help people understand the true nature of the gun-rights advocacy movement.
And it's because the gun-control advocates keep the focus on the gun rather than the people.

People defending themselves is very different than people who use guns as a tool for violence.
And the media is well-equipped to spread the lies.
If someone kills someone with a knife, you never hear anyone screaming about
banning all knives. Knives are bad. We should get rid of all knives.

A drunk driver kills a family of four and you never hear about how we should ban
all cars. Cars are bad. The world would be better off without cars because people
wouldn't be able to use them to kill anyone.
If someone kills someone else with a bow and arrow, you never hear big outcries
about banning all bows and arrows should be banished from the world so we would all be safer.

But let someone shoot and kill someone with a gun
and the media and gun-control advocates get all over it like white on rice.

Yes, the police are here to protect and serve. And of you call them to come
protect you from a violent offender without being able to defend yourself,
they will come clean up the crime scene.
I'm talking about PREVENTING that crime in the first place.
I don't have a police officer that follows me around all day.
That makes ME responsible for the protection of myself and my loved ones.

Don't take my word for any of this.
Here are some links to some people who are completely objective in their opinions
and yet look at the facts of the failure of gun control laws
and express that those facts speak for themselves.

Here is John Stossell and 20/20 on the myth that gun control reduces crime.
20/20 and John Stossell on the myth of gun control

This is a show by Penn and Teller called BULLSHiT...and they take on the fact that
gun control is in fact total bullshit.
This is the entire episode so it's broken up into three parts.
Penn and Teller:Gun control is bullshit part 1
Penn and Teller:Gun control is bullshit part 2
Penn and Teller:Gun control is bullshit part 3

Look. The bottom line is this. We have a right to keep and bear arms in this country.
And we exercise that right to the best of our ability for the safety of
ourselves, our loved one and our country.
Not everyone believes in this right. And that's fine. Believe what you wish.
This is America and you can have any opinion you want.
I honestly don't believe everyone should have a gun or access to guns.
Just because it's a right, I do FIRMLY believe you need to prove you are
qualified and will be responsible with gun ownership.
We don't want guns sold in vending machines like candy.
I believe in responsibly armed citizens. Period.
But I DO want those of us who are responsible gun owners to be able to exercise
our constitutional right without fear of the government stepping in
and taking away another of our civil rights, and without having those people
who disagree with us vilify us, call us names and try to force their opinion
down our throats and down the throats of the general public.
Criminals will still have guns. The gun control laws will ONLY disarm the law-abiding.
That's a fact that can not be denied.

Forced gun control simply puts everyone at risk.
At risk, not just from criminals,
but from the government of this country and those others
who would try to do this country harm.
Responsible gun ownership doesn't just protect the rights
of the citizens of this country from our own government,
but it protects the freedom of this country from others.
There is no way around that.
