Daddy got me a crate to sleep in when I got sleepy. I loved it a lot.
It was warm and cozy. It made me feel safe and kept me
from getting into things that might hurt me when daddy wasn't home.
Of course, I didn't sleep in it at night. Daddy let me sleep in the
bedroom with him. I loved that. I love being close to him so I can protect him
and watch out for him. That's what my job is. I love daddy, so I keep him safe.

It was such a cozy cage, I would fall asleep sometimes even when I didn't mean to.
But daddy said that was okay. He said puppys need to sleep a lot to grow up big and strong.

Daddy just kept saying I was a-door-able.
I don't know what that meant, but he always smiled when he said that.

Even when I was just a baby puppy,
daddy said I had the "German Shepherd stance."
I don't know what he was talking about.
I just liked the smell of the chair.

Everything smelled new. Everything was new to me.
I wanted to explore all my new surroundings.

I felt so small in the big outdoors.
But I learned that daddy would keep me safe.
He would protect me and keep me safe from harm.
I always felt safe with my daddy around.

It was really cold outside when daddy first brought me home.
There was snow on the ground and it was really cold on my feet.
But I remember that I got used to it really quick.
I started to love it so much I would run around in it and bite at it
and kick it up into the air and root around in it with my nose.
Daddy would laugh and laugh at me when I was playing in the snow...
except when it was very, very late at night.
He didn't seem to laugh as much when it was dark out and he had gotten up
out of bed to take me outside. I don't know why. I sure had fun.
I always loved playing in the snow, even though my nose would get cold.

Below are some more pictures of me as a puppy.
Daddy used to take so many pictures of me.
I didn't mind.
